My home town

Hello, I thought I would kick off by introducing the town that I reside in.
The picture is of one of the main attractions in Madang, the Kalibobo lighthouse. Madang is considered to be one of the most beautiful towns in Papua New Guinea and is definately one of the safest.
The lighthouse is just one of the tourist attractions in the town. The town itself was virtually destroyed and was rebuilt after it was the scene of heavy fighting between Japanese and Australian forces during World War II. The remains of this era can be seen along the coast of the town at a popular bathing spot called Machine Gun beach also another tourist attraction.
The town is quite vibrant, you have tourists from all over the world coming to Madang to see the place, then you have students from all over the country (Madang plays host to one university, and several colleges), you also have a relatively large number of expatriates working and living in here, then the locals who seem to take everything in their stride.
